The 2012 Little Buggy Kids Tri is the Regional Youth Development Series Championship Race and awards will be given to the top male & female junior & senior youth and the top three (3) in each of the following age groups:
7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15

All finishers will receive an award!

Participants will receive their goody bag & t-shirt at packet pickup.

Race packet must be picked up at one of the above listed dates to be eligible to race.

 

In compliance with USAT rules, a parent or legal guardian is required to present their driver's license AND child's USAT membership card. Kids are not required to attend packet pick-up. See below for more USAT information.

 

The Little Buggy Kids Tri is a USAT sanctioned event. All Racers must have USAT membership to race. No exceptions. Annual membership is $5.00. Memberships can be purchased online at www.usatriathlon.org OR you can purchase one at Packet Pick-up. If membership card has been lost, a replacement card can be printed from the USAT website

 

 


The section below contains information that is important to parents/guardians and to their young athletes. Reading and following these instructions will help assure that race day will be a safe and enjoyable day for kids and adults alike.

 

 

race day meeting:

All participants are required to attend a pre-race meeting at 6:30am on race day at the pool area. Event particulars will be discussed and questions will be answered by race organizers. Plan on arriving early to check in and setup your transition area PRIOR to the pre-race meeting. Transition area will close at 6:15.


transition area:

Transition area opens at 5:00am and closes at 6:15. Bring your bike and all your race gear into the transition area, and find the aisle where you need to put your bike. Sidewalk chalk will be available for kids to "customize” their space for easy identification during the race. Rack your bike and lay out your gear in the spot next to your bike. Drink plenty of fluids, relax, and report to the pre-race meeting at 6:30am in at the pool area.  After the race, check your transition area to make sure that you have collected everything you brought in with you. We highly recommend that you mark all of your gear, especially shoes, bike and helmet.  You must claim all your gear as you exit on race day.

Parents - For the safety of all our youth participants, only athletes, race officials and transition volunteers will be allowed in the transition area. There will be a lot of activity in these areas and the more bodies, the greater chance some one will get hurt. Experienced volunteers will be in the transition areas to assist the children. We appreciate your cooperation, and we take every precaution to conduct a safe race for your children.

This clinic is for participants and parents! Topics discussed will include setting up transition area, racking your bike and course details. Clinic will be approx. 1 hr.
